Some Guys Have All The Luck

My sweet Natalie has been sick since Sunday night...sniff. I heard her cry out in the middle of the night, but I thought nothing of it because it was short lived and I was tired. The next morning I went into Natalie's room and found her in a pool of her own vomit. Poor Natalie had thrown up in the middle of the night and we were none the wiser. That tells you what a good baby she is.

It was quickly decided that I would stay home with the sick tike because my student teacher had things under control and was slated to teach most of the day anyway. Paul is THE boss right now as his boss/owner is out of the country. He didn't feel like he could miss a day of work.

I dutifully cleaned up baby vomit all day long and gave Natalie a handful of baths. She was a trooper and never cried the entire day. By the time Paul got home she had stopped vomiting and seemed to be recovering nicely. Until right before she went to bed...urp all over my kitchen floor.

We then decided that Paul would stay home with Natalie the next day. I had to go rescue my student teacher who had endured a horrific day flying solo the day before.

When I got home to relieve Paul so he could go to work, he reported that she hadn't thrown up and all was well. Yeah! The kids and I went about our normal business and then the diaper blowout happened. Not to be too graphic, but oh my gosh! How can so much stuff come out of a little girl? This brought on bath number 5 for the last 36 hours.

Fast forward to that evening. We decided the kids needed some food to eat, so we made our bimonthly trip to Costco. Before shopping, we decided to grab some cheap Costco pizza. We had just sat down to devour our cheap spoils when... you guessed it. Natalie threw up all over me and some of the pizza.

Luckily, no other throw up incidents happened the rest of the evening, night, or morning, so we held our breath and sent her to my brother-in-laws. He was free of any problems. Whew!

Fast forward to the afternoon. I had just fed Natalie a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I went to pick her up out of the seat and noticed a familiar brown color. Again! She had blown out another diaper. Another bath.

You may be wondering why I titled this post, "Some Guys Have All The Luck". You may have also noticed that nowhere in this post is there an incident of nastiness that was shared by my sweet husband and my sick daughter. Thus the title seemed just.

I would say you are pretty lucky according to my experience not only am I the one that usually cleans up all the mess but about 4-6 hours after I end up getting sick too!
