Five Happy Years

Paul and I have been married for five wonderful years. I can't believe it has been that long. TIme flies when you're having fun.

We were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 11, 2003 at 7:40 A.M. Paul's Best Man was his brother Kerry and my Matron of Honor was my best friend Zera. I got a case of the stomach flu the night before, so I was miserable until about a 1/2 hour before getting married. I prayed over and over that I would not feel sick on my wedding day and my prayers were answered. Hardly any of our family could come into the temple. Paul's brother and sister-in-law and a couple aunts and uncles from his side were able to be there. My mom made sure I knew she was thinking of me by telling Zera to give me a hug after we were married and telling me it was from her. I will always be grateful to my parents for not making me feel guilty for being married in the temple. They helped make our day a happy one.

After taking pictures, we had our reception at Log Haven in Millcreek Canyon. We served lunch and had a ring exchanging for the relatives who were unable to attend the temple ceremony. It was beautiful with all the fall colors and it was such a good time. The only regret we have is that we didn't get to visit with our guests as much as we wanted.

Before we knew it we were rushing off to the airport to catch a plane to Los Angles. We were to go on a Cruise the next morning to Mexico. We arrived at the hotel at around 9:00 P.M. We were exhausted and just wanted to go to our room. Unfortunately, our room was being held hostage by some Japanese flight attendants who were not leaving for the airport until 12:00 A.M. We were comped anything we wanted in the restaurant in the hotel, but I was not in the mood for Prime Rib. I wanted some Prime Paul! While Paul happily ate steak, I balled because we weren't in our room.

We were finally let into our room and all was well. We went on our cruise to the Mexican Rivera the next day. It was a fabulous time.

To celebrate our 5th Anniversary, we are going to Jackson Hole without our children for the weekend. I'm hoping not to run into any Japanese flight attendants.

You look so beautiful in your photos!! Time sure does fly, especially when you have kids! We had our 10 year in August, and after a PTA event, and long construction hours, we called it a day with "happy anniversary". Good for you guys for getting away!!!
