Week with the Fam

Well, I just dropped of my parents at the airport today.  It was sad to see them go, but the good news is we get to see them in a couple of weeks.

While they were here we had a great time.  We started the week with Natalie's 1st birthday party. It was so much fun to see her reaction to everyone and the cake and presents.  There were 3 other babies there at the party, so the babes moved in a baby pack around the house.  It was cute.

On Thursday, we did some shopping and went out to dinner.  Later in the evening, my Aunt Beth, Uncle Steve, and cousin Ashley came into town for the weekend.  It was so neat having a ton of my family in town.  The only problem is I get upset when they all have to go home.  I guess that is what I get for moving to Utah.

On Friday, we went out for breakfast at the Pancake House in Sugarhouse.  It was delicious! Then we came back to the house and everyone got a case of the sleepiness, so every couch and bed became occupied.  My aunt took a nap for the first time in who knows how long.  She slept at least 4 hours.  Everyone kept remarking how quiet it was up here.  I'm glad we live in a place where people can relax.

Later that evening, we had a family BBQ before we headed out for the Stadium of Fire show. The Stadium of Fire show was wonderful.  Everyone had a great time except for the walking and the poor sound for the concert part of the evening.  The rest of it was great, and everyone said it was worth the money.  Whew!

After recovering from a late night the night before, we went our separate ways on Saturday. Paul and I took Natalie to a little birthday party for her friend Angelo at Gymboree.  She had a ton of fun playing on the slides and mats.  The rest of the family made their usual pilgrimage to the Red Iguana for lunch.  It is usually the first place my father wants to hit when he comes into town.  Finally, we dropped the kids off at Brook's grandma's house and went out to dinner at Tuscany for my parent's 39th wedding anniversary.  The dinner and company were great.  Then, we went to see Hancock at the District.  It was a great night!

Life will get back to normal now.  Brook starts swimming lessons tomorrow.  Ryan couldn't take them because his mom can't do swimming lessons during the day and the evening ones filled up too fast.  We have to get that kid in swimming lessons soon!  I'm excited to have time off for a while.  I don't have to go back until mid August.  Yeah!

It's hard for family to come and go! I always want them to stay forever! Tuscany? I've always wanted to go there! Fancy, fancy!
